  Wivenhoe to University of Essex Cycle Route Questionnaire

The University of Essex, in Colchester, submitted a Planning Application to Colchester Borough Council in 2012 for a multi-storey car park in the grounds of the university.  As part of the Section 106 obligations on the Planning Permission granted for this car park, £250,000 has been provided to Essex County Council by the University to deliver a cycle route between Wivenhoe and the campus.

A number of route options have been developed for this route, and these are detailed below;

Option 1 – Full re-alignment of existing carriageway to construct a 3m wide shared cycle path and Toucan crossing

Option 2 – Land acquisition on western side from properties to construct a 2.5m shared cycle path and Toucan crossing
