Superfast Essex - getting Essex connected to superfast broadband

Essex has been given the go ahead to improve broadband

Essex is to get over £6 million from government to improve broadband across the county. With additional private and further public sector investment, superfast and much improved broadband will be made available to all households and business premises across the county.

What now?

Government have committed to making superfast broadband available to over 90% of the population and at least 2Mbps broadband available to all by 2015. It will take time to bring faster broadband to everyone in Essex but our immediate next steps are to secure a commercial partner to support and develop detailed implementation plans for the county. We will then publish a timetable for the planned roll out.
